GPA scale — 4.30 cap 同 A+ 至 F 詳細
HKU Regulations for First Degree Curricula UG 8(a) 條文列咗全套 grading system。A+ = 4.3（唔係好多大學嘅 4.0），意味住 HKU GPA cap 係 4.30。呢個 A+ 位對追 Honours 嘅同學好緊要——一個 A+（4.3）拉高 GGPA 嘅速度比一個 A（4.0）明顯。
(a) The grades, their standards and the grade points for assessment shall be as follows: A+ Excellent 4.3; A Excellent 4.0; A- Excellent 3.7; B+ Good 3.3; B Good 3.0; B- Good 2.7; C+ Satisfactory 2.3; C Satisfactory 2.0; C- Satisfactory 1.7; D+ Pass 1.3; D Pass 1.0; F Fail 0.

另外 UG 8(b) 有一句好重要嘅補充：Pass/Fail 或 Distinction 嘅 course 唔會計入 GPA。即係話你如果選咗 pass/fail option（例如 common core 某啲 course），呢啲 credit 唔會拉高你 GPA，但同時會影響「50% letter-graded rule」計算，令你可能失去 Honours 資格。呢個位下面 50% letter-graded rule 一段會詳細講。
(b) Special permission may be given by Senate for courses in individual curricula to be graded as ‘Pass’, ‘Fail’ or ‘Distinction’. Such courses will not be included in the calculation of the GPA.
HKU Calendar — UG 8(b)
Grade 對照：A+/A/A- = Excellent（3.7–4.3），B+/B/B- = Good（2.7–3.3），C+/C/C- = Satisfactory（1.7–2.3），D+/D = Pass（1.0–1.3），F = Fail（0）。呢個標準級對級係全校 policy——所有 Faculty 都跟。個別 Department 可以喺 course level 用 curving 決定 raw mark → letter grade 嘅 mapping（例如某 course 60 raw = B+，某 course 60 raw = B），但 letter grade → grade point 嘅換算全校統一。
CGPA vs GGPA — Honours 用邊個？
HKU 有兩個 GPA 概念好多同學混淆——CGPA (Cumulative GPA) 同 GGPA (Graduation GPA)。呢個分別直接決定你 Honours class，值得仔細睇。
CGPA：每學期完你 transcript 顯示嘅 GPA。所有 course 平等 weighting——一科 3-credit A 同一科 6-credit A 對 CGPA 影響一樣。
GGPA (Graduation GPA)：畢業時計 Honours 用嘅 GPA。加咗 credit-value weighting——一科 6-credit A 對 GGPA 影響係一科 3-credit A 嘅兩倍。即係你 Year 3&4 嘅 capstone、dissertation（多數 6 或 12 credits）貢獻大過 Year 1&2 嘅一般 course（多數 3 credits）。
(a) Honours classifications shall be awarded in five divisions: First Class Honours, Second Class Honours Division One, Second Class Honours Division Two, Third Class Honours, and Pass. The classification of honours shall be determined by the Board of Examiners for the degree in accordance with the following Graduation GPA scores (GGPA), with all courses taken (including failed courses) carrying weightings which are proportionate to their credit values.

兩個字要留意：“including failed courses”——即係話你 F 咗一科 6-credit course，佢會用 0 grade point × 6 credits 嘅方式計入 GGPA，比 fail 一科 3-credit course 對 GGPA 嘅拖累強一倍。呢個係港大制度上比較「重罰」senior year fail 嘅結構性設計。
你 Faculty transcript FAQ 進一步確認呢個分別。Faculty of Law 官方頁講到部分 Law degree 係「all courses taken carrying equal weighting」——即係話個別 Faculty／programme 可以有例外設計，永遠以你 Faculty Handbook / degree regulations 為準。
All degrees offered at the Faculty of Law will be awarded in 5 divisions determined by the Board of Examiners for the degree in accordance with the following Cumulative GPA scores, with all courses taken (including failed courses) carrying equal weighting.

換句話講：HKU 主 policy 用 GGPA（credit-weighted），Faculty of Law 特別例外用 CGPA（equal-weighted）。你入學時所在 Faculty 決定用邊個——如果你唔肯定，一定要問返 Faculty Office，唔可以靠傳聞。
Honours 5 級分類 — GGPA range
Honours 5 級分類對應嘅 GGPA range，直接由 UG 9(a) 明訂：

幾個特徵值得留意：
1. GGPA < 1.0 唔畀 Honours degree——即係話你 GGPA 落到 0.99，得個 “Pass” designation 都無。呢個係機制上嘅明文限制，唔係逐個 case discretion。
2. Second Class 分兩級 (Division One / Division Two)——你 CV 上寫「2:i (Upper Second)」同「2:ii (Lower Second)」係唔同 signal，僱主同海外碩士 admission 睇得好清楚。3.00 vs 2.99 就相差一級——呢個 0.01 分嘅門檻好殘酷，所以你 senior year 每一科 3-credit A 定 A-，都可能決定你 Honours class。
3. GGPA 3.6 係 First Class 起點——港大 First Class 門檻同其他大學（例如 CityU、CUHK、HKUST、PolyU）一樣係 3.60，但因為 GGPA credit-weighted 特性，你 senior year 高分嘅 impact 明顯放大，追 First Class 嘅策略應該 focus 喺 Year 3&4 嘅 6-credit course。

0.1 Grade Point discretion 機制
港大 Honours 制度有一個好特別嘅制度性 safety net：Board of Examiners（BoE）有 0.1 Grade Point discretion。即係話你 GGPA 差 higher class 嘅門檻唔多過 0.1，BoE 可以酌情升你一級——但佢係「absolute discretion and with justification」，唔係自動嘅。
(b) Honours classification may not be determined solely on the basis of a candidate’s Graduation GPA and the Board of Examiners for the degree may, at its absolute discretion and with justification, award a higher class of honours to a candidate deemed to have demonstrated meritorious academic achievement but whose Graduation GPA falls below the range stipulated in UG 9(a) of the higher classification by not more than 0.1 Grade Point.
HKU Calendar — UG 9(b) Board discretion
Faculty of Social Sciences（Dean’s Honours List 頁面）進一步解釋 BoE 用邊 3 個原則決定要唔要 exercise 呢個 discretion：
Only students whose Cumulative GPA scores of all advanced level courses reach the cut-off point of the higher class honours classification (i.e. by not more than 0.1 Grade Point) will be considered; Good performance in capstone experience / course; Demonstration of meritorious academic achievement, particularly in senior years.
HKU Faculty of Social Sciences — Dean’s Honour List and Honours Classification
三個 signal 明確：(1) advanced level（Year 3&4）course 表現好、(2) capstone／FYP 表現好、(3) senior year 進步明顯。呢啲全部係「後半段爆發」嘅 pattern——即係話如果你 Year 1&2 平平，但 Year 3&4 顯著上升同 capstone A grade，你 GGPA 落 higher class 嘅 -0.1 range 之內，你有實質 basis 去 request discretion review。
但要 realistic：呢個唔係 automatic entitlement。BoE 每年會處理成千個 case，Chief Examiners 需要主動 recommend。實務上你能做嘅係——確保你 senior year 每一科都 solid，capstone／FYP 攞高分，並且喺 Faculty Office 提早了解 discretion 申請程序。
50% letter-graded rule — 隱藏 Honours 門檻
呢個 rule 好多同學到 senior year 先發現，係港大 Honours 制度嘅一個「隱藏門檻」——即使你 GGPA 3.8，如果你 letter-graded credit 冇夠 programme 一半，你都可能得個「Pass degree」而無 Honours classification。
To award honours to you, the University normally employs a ‘50% rule’, which mandates that at least half of the credits of your degree curriculum should be letter-graded. This means, if your programme requires 240 credits for graduation, you will normally be required to have at least 120 letter-graded credits in order to be awarded a honour. A student with fewer than half the total credits letter-graded will normally be awarded a pass degree with no honours classification. Therefore, we suggest you to think extremely carefully before opting for pass/fail grading, especially if you are in special situations such as senior-year entry or granted advanced standing.
HKU AAS FAQ — 50% Letter-Graded Rule
拆返 3 個關鍵點：
1. 240 credits programme 需要至少 120 letter-graded credits——即係你可以最多有 120 credits pass/fail、exchange 或 exempted，超過呢個 threshold 就係 pass degree。
2. Senior year entry 同 advanced standing 特別高風險——因為你嚟到 HKU 就已經 exempted 咗一部分 credits，剩返嘅 credit 空間比正常學生少，pass/fail option 就越少 room。
3. Exchange out course credit 不計入 letter-graded count——因為 credit transfer 唔會 record letter grade 落 HKU GPA（下面 credit transfer 段落會詳細講）。即係話你去咗 exchange 一個 semester（例如 30 credits），呢 30 credits 唔計 letter-graded 嗰邊。TL&L Updates 官方 clarify 得好清楚：
In turn, to award honours to a student we normally employ a ‘50% rule’, which mandates that at least half of the credits of a degree curriculum should be letter-graded. This means that a student taking a programme requiring 240 credits for graduation will normally be required to have at least 120 letter-graded credits. A student with fewer than half the total credits letter-graded will normally be awarded a pass degree with no honours classification.
HKU Teaching and Learning — S1 Updates on 50% Rule
Common Core 特別 rule：Common Core Curriculum 亦有自己嘅 credit transfer cap——最多 50% Common Core requirement 可以 credit transfer（即 36 credits programme 最多 transfer 18 credits）。呢個係額外限制，喺 University-wide 120 credits limit 之下。
The maximum number of credits which can be transferred to the CC Curriculum is limited to 50% of your programme’s CC requirements (i.e. 50% of 36 credits of 24 credits as the case may be).
HKU Common Core — Advanced Standing and Credit Transfer
實務 tip：如果你打算 exchange out（尤其一整個 year），你要事前計清楚剩返嘅 letter-graded credits 有無達到 50%。呢個係 pre-departure briefing 上都會提，但好多同學嚟到 senior year 才 realize。

Discontinuation 三個 grounds
港大 UG 4(e) 明訂 discontinuation 嘅三個 grounds。任何一個 trigger 你 case 就會去到 Faculty Review Committee on Student Performance and Discontinuation (FRC)：
(e) Unless otherwise permitted by the Board of the Faculty, candidates shall be recommended for discontinuation of their studies if they have: (i) failed to complete successfully 36 or more credits in two consecutive semesters (not including the summer semester), except where they are not required to take such a number of credits in the two given semesters, or (ii) failed to achieve an average Semester GPA of 1.0 or higher for two consecutive semesters (not including the summer semester), or (iii) exceeded the maximum period of registration specified in the regulations of the degree.
HKU Calendar — UG 4(e) Discontinuation
三個 grounds 逐個拆：

AAS FAQ 進一步 clarify：如果你被 recommend discontinuation，你會被 FRC 面試，然後 case 上到 Committee on Discontinuation of the Senate（COD）作最終決定。FRC 同 COD 都會考慮你 academic 同 non-academic 嘅個人情況——即係話如果你有真實嘅 personal reasons（家庭、健康、財困），呢啲係 legitimate representation grounds。
Students who have failed to satisfy the requirements for progression of studies and/or exceeded the maximum period of registration as stipulated in the relevant University and curriculum regulations may be recommended by the BoE of their curriculum for discontinuation of studies. They may make representations to the Faculty Review Committee on Student Performance and Discontinuation of their Faculty Board, which conducts a review of the individual circumstances, academic (but not including their actual results) and non-academic, and reports to the Faculty Board/BoE with a recommendation on each case.

特別 rule — Failed same course 3 times：AAS FAQ 提到部分 curriculum（唔係全部）規定同一科最多 attempt 三次。如果你屬於呢類 programme，第三次 fail 同一科都會觸發 FRC review。
Some (not all) curriculums stipulate that the maximum number of attempts for a particular course or requirement is three. As such, students pursuing these curriculums might need to sit for the FRC/COD if they have failed the same course for three times and might be at the risk of being discontinued from studies.

Faculty of Law 官方頁面另加 note：BoE 亦可以按 General Regulation G12 recommend discontinuation，適用範圍比 UG 4 更闊——包括 unsatisfactory performance 嘅 general grounds。即係話 (i)/(ii)/(iii) 係主要 trigger，但唔係唯一 trigger。個別 Faculty／programme 可以有自己 supplementary rule。
Credit Transfer — 120 credits 上限
港大 credit transfer 有兩層 cap，同其他大學嘅 % cap 唔同——港大用絕對 credit number cap：
Students may, with the approval of the relevant Faculty Board/Board of Studies, transfer credits for courses completed at other institutions (whether inside or outside of Hong Kong) at any time during their candidature, but the results of those courses will not be included in the calculation of GPA. For undergraduate curricula and subject to paragraphs 2.8 and 5.1, a maximum of 120 credits may be transferred.

UG 4(d) 亦有 corresponding 條文：
(d) Candidates may, with the approval of the Board of the Faculty, transfer credits for courses completed at other institutions at any time during their candidature. The number of transferred credits may be recorded in the transcript of the candidate, but the results of courses completed at other institutions shall not be included in the calculation of the GPA. The number of credits to be transferred shall not exceed half of the total credits normally required under the degree curricula of the candidates during their candidature at the University.

四個關鍵限制：

影響 GPA 嘅位：所有 credit transfer 都唔會計入 GPA——即係你 exchange 攞嘅高分唔可以拉高你 CGPA/GGPA，你 fail 咗嘅 exchange course 亦唔會拉低 GPA（會有 comment 但唔入 GPA）。呢個 rule 對 exchange 策略好重要：exchange 期唔可以「靠攞高分保 Honours」；反之，exchange 期 fail 咗都唔會 kill 你 Honours。
Credit Transfer: Granted for courses completed at other institutions, whether inside or outside of Hong Kong, at any time during the students’ candidature at the University. Recognition of studies completed on exchange during candidature at HKU (results not included in calculating GPA).
HKU Science Faculty — Credit Transfer Policy
實務計算例：如果你 240 credits programme，用足 120 credits transfer——即係你只需要 letter-graded 120 credits at HKU，剛好 meet 50% rule 底線。任何多過 120 credits 嘅 credit transfer 都會令你 letter-graded credit < 一半，直接失去 Honours 資格。呢個係好多 second-degree 或 senior-year entry 同學嘅盲點——「你 exempt 咗多啲 credits 好似著數」，但實際上你 flexibility 減少咗，錯一步就 no Honours。
Exchange 一年 vs 一個 semester 嘅計算例——假設你 240 credits programme，Year 3 全年 exchange out（typical 30 credits × 2 semester = 60 credits transferred）。你 HKU 剩返攞 180 letter-graded credits，180 / 240 = 75%，過 50% 門檻。但如果你 Year 3 exchange + Year 2 之前又用咗 pass/fail option 42 credits，你 letter-graded 就變成 240 − 60 − 42 = 138，仲係過 120（剛剛過），但 buffer 好薄。呢個時候如果 Year 4 你再 fail 一科 6-credit（唔算 letter-graded），你 letter-graded 就跌到 132，離 120 只剩 12 credits buffer——一個 6-credit F 就 kill 你 Honours。
咁點應對？三個 practical strategy：（1）Senior year 撞正 6-credit FYP／dissertation／capstone 時，唔好隨便交——呢類 course 對 GGPA 影響最大兼直接影響 letter-graded count；（2）Year 1/2 揀 course 時審慎用 pass/fail option，記住 Common Core 另外有 50% cap；（3）Exchange out 之前，同 Faculty Office 計清楚 exchange 之後 letter-graded credit 剩幾多，超過 120 buffer 都算 OK，未夠就重新排 course plan。
GenAI 政策同 declaration 要求
港大 GenAI 政策由 Senate 2023 年 6 月首次 endorse，2025 年 9 月 Research Integrity 版本 approved。TALIC（Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre）提供 University-wide Core Principles，各 Faculty 有更 specific 嘅 guidelines。
University-wide Core Principles（TALIC）——三句最緊要：
Staff and students are reminded that the HKU regulations and policies regarding plagiarism and academic mis-conduct supersede all other regulations, where there is a conflict, these regulations and policies take precedence.
HKU TALIC — AI Ethics Core Principles
ANY misuse of AI or misrepresentation of AI work as one’s own independent creative work violates the HKU regulations as well as generally accepted principles of community, integrity and honor. Violations will be referred to the university disciplinary committee.
HKU TALIC — Penalty and Referral
Faculty of Arts 2025 版 guidelines（實際落實嘅 mandatory declaration format）有 6 項強制內容——係全港大學公開嘅 declaration template 之中最詳細嘅一份：
Whenever GenAI contributes in any way to submitted work, students must append a completed GenAI Use Declaration (a template may be offered by instructors). The declaration must be signed and include, at minimum: 1. Tool(s) and version used (e.g., ChatGPT-4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro). 2. Date(s) of interaction. 3. Full text of the exact prompt(s) that generated material subsequently used. 4. Description of what was kept verbatim, heavily edited, lightly edited, or discarded. 5. Precise indication of which sections or elements of the submission (by paragraph number, line number, or appendix) received AI contribution. 6. Brief justification of why GenAI was used at each stage.
HKU Faculty of Arts — GenAI Declaration 6 Requirements
Faculty of Arts 亦有明確嘅 restrictive／balanced／encouraging draft policy 三檔範本——即係話唔同 course teacher 可以按 assessment nature 選擇 GenAI 用途範圍。呢個 tiered approach 係香港大學界最詳細嘅 GenAI 分級制度。
Undisclosed use of GenAI to generate text, ideas, structure, translations, or code constitutes plagiarism or academic misconduct under HKU regulations.
HKU Faculty of Arts — Undisclosed Use = Plagiarism
The Faculty does not exclusively rely on commercial “AI detectors” because of their high false-positive and false-negative rates. Turnitin’s AI-writing report may be consulted as supplementary evidence only. Cases will be evaluated primarily on: Absence or inadequacy of the required GenAI Use Declaration. Sudden, unexplained shifts in writing style, vocabulary, or sophistication. Presence of typical GenAI errors (factual hallucinations, repetitive phrasing, anachronistic references). Inability of the student to explain or defend their submitted work orally or in writing when requested.
HKU Faculty of Arts — Evidence Basis for AI Misconduct
三個實務 takeaway：
1. Declaration 唔止是「用過 ChatGPT」——要有 6 項具體資料：tool name、version、date、full prompt、edit level、affected section、justification。 course teacher 可以按 course syllabus 訂更嚴格 template。
2. AI detector 唔係 primary evidence——Turnitin AI Score 只係 supplementary。primary evidence 係 declaration 缺失、寫作風格突變、事實錯誤（hallucination）、口頭無法解釋作品。
3. Faculty of Arts 明訂唔可以用 GenAI 生成 references／bibliographies——因為 AI 經常 fabricate 出唔存在嘅 source。呢個係最容易 trip 到嘅位——你 draft 用 ChatGPT 補 citation，一 verify 就 collapse。

Dean’s Honours List 條件
港大 Dean’s Honours List 唔係 University-wide，係 Faculty-specific。每個 Faculty 有自己 criteria，最常見嘅有兩種 model——GPA cutoff model 同 top-10% model。
Model 1 — GPA cutoff model（Faculty of Social Sciences、Business School、Education）：
To recognize students’ outstanding academic achievements, students who meet the following criteria will be recommended by the Board of Examiners for inclusion within the Dean’s Honours List annually: 1. The Yearly GPA cut-off point for the Dean’s Honours List should be 3.6; and 2. Students have to complete successfully at least 48 credits with letter grades in a specified academic year (excluding summer semester). As such exchange out students would not be eligible for recommendation of the Dean’s Honours List.
HKU Faculty of Social Sciences — Dean’s Honours List Criteria
Model 2 — Top 10% model（Faculty of Arts、Faculty of Law）：
To recognise students’ outstanding academic achievements, students whose Year GPA ranked within the top 10% of their respective Study Year are considered by the Faculty for inclusion within the Dean’s Honours List in June annually. For academic year 2023-24, to recognize students’ outstanding academic achievements, Law students who complete more than 30 graded credits at HKU and, based on their year GPA, ranking in the top 10% in the class in a particular academic year would be recommended to be placed on the Dean’s Honours List.

Faculty of Science 特別 rule（top 10% + additional criteria）：
As a further means to recognise BASc(AppliedAI), BSc, BSc&LLB, BSc&MRes, BSc(ActuarSc) and BEd&BSc students’ outstanding academic achievements, students who are within the top 10% of their class are considered by the Board of Examiners for the degree of BASc(AppliedAI), BSc, BSc&MRes and BSc(ActuarSc) for inclusion within the Dean’s Honours List in June every year. In order to be eligible for the consideration of the Dean’s Honours List, students should take and pass at least 48 credits of courses in both semester 1 and 2.

Exchange 特別 rule（HKU Business School）——如果你 one-semester exchange out，仍然可以有 Dean’s Honours List 資格，但要達到 4 個條件：
If you participate in a one-semester exchange, you are eligible to be recommended to the Dean’s Honours List, provided that you have met the following criteria: (a) having achieved a Year GPA of 3.60, including regular and summer semester assessment results but excluding results obtained during exchange studies; (b) not having any failed courses during the year, inclusive of non-graded courses (i.e. courses with grading of pass or fail only) and courses taken during exchange studies; (c) having studied in HKU for at least one regular semester during the year; and (d) having completed successfully at least 24 credits in each regular semester.

1. 你 Faculty 用邊個 model 要自己確認——SocSc/Business/Education 係 GPA cutoff（3.6），Arts/Law/Science 係 top 10%。呢個直接影響你策略：GPA cutoff 你可以「純上分」，top 10% 就要留意班平均。
2. 一整年 exchange out normally = 冇 Dean’s Honours List 資格——因為冇 letter-graded credit 達到 minimum。One-semester exchange 部分 Faculty（例如 Business）容許，但條件嚴——e.g. 冇 fail 任何 course，包括 pass/fail。
3. Faculty grade 大 events 用 Yearly GPA，唔係 CGPA——即係話 Year 1 冇上 Dean’s List 唔會影響你 Year 2 上 Dean’s List 資格。每學年都係 independent evaluation。

呢個 gap 表本身就係一個 signal——如果你搜到某網 claim「HKU Turnitin 15% 一定算抄襲」，你可以即刻識破呢個係傳聞而非官方 policy。個別 course teacher 可以自己訂 similarity 底線，但全校統一 cutoff 冇明文。你收到你 course syllabus 講明「similarity ≤ 15%」，先叫你 course rule；否則 default 係 case-by-case 由 course teacher 判斷。
類似邏輯適用喺 AI detection——Faculty of Arts 已經正式明訂 AI detector 只係 supplementary evidence，唔係決定性——你被指控用 AI，Faculty 唔會單靠 Turnitin AI Score 定罪，而係會綜合考慮 declaration 完整性、寫作 style 突變、事實錯誤、口頭問答表現。呢個對抗 false positive 提供咗實務保障。
Cross-school 對比 — HKU 同其他七大 GPA 制度嘅獨特位：睇過我哋科大 CGA 規例、理大 GPA 規例、中大 GPA 規例嘅同學會發現——HKU 呢個 credit-weighted GGPA 制度係其他大學罕見。CityU、CUHK、CityU、HKBU 多數用 CGPA（equal weighting）計 Honours。PolyU 有 Weighted GPA + Award GPA 兩層，但 weighting 係 Level-based（Year 3&4 weight 3, Year 1&2 weight 2），概念同 HKU 唔一樣——HKU credit-based weighting 更 granular，因為個別 6-credit vs 3-credit course 直接映射到 impact。呢個令 HKU 同學嘅策略考慮同其他大學唔同：你 senior year 揀 6-credit optional course 揀得好，可以事半功倍；揀錯或者交唔到功課，代價亦更大。
另外一個特別位係 50% letter-graded rule + Common Core 50% cap 呢兩層 rule 嘅組合——即係話 HKU 對 exchange out 同 Common Core credit transfer 都特別嚴——你有一個 overall 50% cap，再有一個 Common Core 50% sub-cap。呢啲 sub-cap 唔會喺 transcript 明顯顯示——你只有睇 Handbook 先知。呢個係好多同學到畢業前一個學期先 realize 嘅 gotcha。
Faculty-level Dean’s List 條件亦有明顯 pattern：應用型／量化 Faculty（Business、SocSc）用 GPA cutoff（3.6 + 48 letter-graded credits）；選擇性／人文 Faculty（Arts、Law、Science）用 top 10%。呢個 signal 反映咗學術文化——量化 Faculty 傾向明確 criteria，人文 Faculty 傾向相對排名。你申請碩士 admission 時，海外大學 admission office 睇 Dean’s List 認可性亦會 refer 到 respective Faculty 嘅制度——即係 top 10% 通常 signal 更 competitive，因為 acceptance rate 較低。
FAQ — 常見問題
Q1. HKU GPA cap 4.30 定 4.0？
4.30。UG 8(a) 明訂 A+ = 4.3。呢個 scale 適用於現時所有 HKU undergraduate curriculum。
Q2. CGPA 同 GGPA 有咩分別？我睇 transcript 邊個？
Transcript 通常顯示 CGPA（每個 course equal weight）。但你畢業時 Honours class 係按 GGPA（credit-weighted）計。兩個數字 normally 相近，但如果你 6-credit senior year course 特別高／低分，兩個 GPA 可能有明顯差距。詳細見CGPA vs GGPA。
Q3. 我 GGPA 3.59，係咪一定 2:i？
Default 係 2:i（First 門檻 3.60）。但如果你 GGPA 3.50–3.59（差 First 唔多過 0.1），你有基礎 request Board of Examiners exercise 0.1 Grade Point discretion——條件係 senior year 表現優異＋capstone/FYP 高分。詳細見0.1 GP discretion。
Q4. 我 GGPA 3.75，但 letter-graded credit 得 100（240 credits programme），會唔會 no Honours？
會有風險。50% rule 要求 letter-graded credit ≥ 一半（240 → 120）。你 100 < 120，normally 會得個 Pass degree 無 Honours。但個 "normally" 意味住 case-by-case discretion 存在——一定要即刻搵 Faculty Office confirm 你 specific case。
Q5. 我連續兩學期 average SGPA 0.9，會 discontinue？
會被 recommend discontinuation（Ground ii）。但唔係 automatic——你會被 FRC 面試，然後 case 上 COD 最終決定。你可以 make representation 講 personal circumstances（家庭、健康、財困）。詳細見Discontinuation。
Q6. Fail 一科 3 次一定 discontinue？
唔係。AAS FAQ 講明「some (not all) curriculums」有 max 3 attempts rule。你要查你自己 programme regulations——同一 Faculty 唔同 programme 可能 different rule。
Q7. Credit transfer 上限係 %? 定 credits?
Credit-based：undergraduate 上限 120 credits（絕對 cap，不論 programme size）。UG 4(d) 亦有「不超過 half of total credits」條文——兩者 whichever more restrictive 為準。Common Core Curriculum 另有自己嘅 50% cap（36 credits 上限 18）。詳細見Credit Transfer。
Q8. Exchange 期成績會影響 GGPA?
唔會。所有 credit transfer 唔計 GPA。你 exchange 攞高分唔會拉高 GGPA，fail 亦唔會拉低。但呢啲 credit 唔計「letter-graded」count，可能觸發 50% rule。
Q9. 用 ChatGPT 幫我 brainstorm 要唔要 declare?
Depends on course policy。Faculty of Arts 明訂「whenever GenAI contributes in any way」都要 declaration——包括 brainstorming。但同時 restrictive draft policy 明訂「generic brainstorming prompts without assignment-specific content」係可以免 declaration。實務上：你 course syllabus 講明 policy tier；如果冇明講，default 較嚴——一 disclose 一定安全。
Q10. GenAI declaration 交唔到會點?
Faculty of Arts 明訂「failure to submit a complete and accurate declaration when GenAI has been used will normally be treated as academic misconduct」。即係唔止用 AI 唔講係 misconduct，declaration 交但 incomplete／inaccurate 都會被視為 misconduct。
Q11. Turnitin AI Score 幾多 % 一定被指控?
**搵唔到官方文件**。Faculty of Arts 明訂 AI detector 只係 supplementary evidence，「high false-positive and false-negative rates」——即係話單靠 Turnitin AI Score 唔會定罪。primary evidence 係 declaration 缺失、寫作 style 突變、事實錯誤、口頭問答無法解釋。
Q12. 有邊啲 course 唔可以用 pass/fail option?
UG 8(b) 明訂 pass/fail 需 Senate special permission。實務上：Common Core 某啲 course 有 pass/fail option（例如 2020/21 pandemic 期間），major core course 一般冇。查你 course syllabus 有 grading option 一欄至準。
港大 senior year 頂唔頂得住，唔係喺你 CGPA 度，係喺你 GGPA 度
港大用 credit-weighted GGPA 計 Honours——Year 3&4 每一科 6-credit capstone、FYP、dissertation，直接決定你 First / 2:i / 2:ii 嘅上落。仲有 50% letter-graded rule 呢個隱藏門檻——你 exchange 太多、pass/fail 選太多，即使 GGPA 3.8 都可以得個 Pass degree 冇 Honours。
