GPA scale — 4.00 cap 同 A 至 F 詳細
嶺大 GPA scale 官方 cap 係 4.00（A = 4.00）——同港大 4.30 cap 有明顯差別。冇 A+ 額外加分位，A 已經係頂。呢個 scale 適用於現時所有 Lingnan undergraduate curriculum。BBA Student Handbook（2024 intake）Section 18.2 明訂：
Grades are awarded according to the following system:

BBA (Hons) Programme Student Handbook — 2024 Intake §18.2
兩個要留意嘅細節：D+ 同 D 都算 Pass——即係一科 40 分左右都可以 pass、有 grade point 計入 GPA。呢個同某啲學校（HKUST、CityU）D 已經係最低 pass grade 唔同——嶺大 F 至係 fail、D-範圍冇存在。第二個細節：I（Incomplete）算 0 point——同 F 效果一樣拖低 GPA，但仲可以喺 assessment 完成後 upgrade。M / VS / S / U / PASS/FAIL 呢啲非-letter grade 唔計入 GPA——即係某啲 service learning、community engagement course 攞 M（Merit）雖然係最高等，但唔會拉高你 cumulative GPA。

GPA scale 實例計算
讓你掌握 credit-weighted 計法，睇兩個實例。Case 1：你 term 1 讀 5 科共 15 credits——Course A（3 credits）B+、3.33；Course B（3 credits）B、3.00；Course C（3 credits）A-、3.67；Course D（3 credits）B、3.00；Course E（3 credits）A、4.00。Weighted points = 3×3.33 + 3×3.00 + 3×3.67 + 3×3.00 + 3×4.00 = 9.99 + 9.00 + 11.01 + 9.00 + 12.00 = 51.00。Term GPA = 51.00 ÷ 15 = 3.40。Case 2：同一學期但 Course C 係 6 credits capstone——weighted points = 9.99 + 9.00 + 6×3.67 + 9.00 + 12.00 = 9.99 + 9.00 + 22.02 + 9.00 + 12.00 = 62.01，总 credits = 3+3+6+3+3 = 18，Term GPA = 62.01 ÷ 18 = 3.44。兩個 case 識到一件事：6-credit high-grade course 拉高 GPA 比 3-credit 同 grade 多。你選 senior year 6-credit capstone / FYP，就係自己把 Cumulative GPA final 技 leverage 到那一二科嘅表現上。
Term GPA vs Cumulative GPA — 兩個都要識
嶺大用 credit-weighted formula——即係大 credit course（例如 6-credit capstone、FYP）比 3-credit course 對 GPA impact 大一倍。呢個同港大 HKU GGPA、教大 EdUHK 一樣係 credit-weighted 系統。Section 19.1 定義 Term GPA：
This is a figure ranging from 0 to 4.00 (A = 4.00) used to indicate the performance of a student in the term concerned.
Term GPA = Total weighted points for all courses taken in the term concerned ÷ Total number of credits enrolled in for the term concerned, where weighted points = grade points × the number of credits of the course concerned.

Cumulative GPA 用同一 formula，但係 across all terms up to date：
Cumulative G.P.A. — This is a figure ranging from 0 to 4.00 (A = 4.00) used to indicate the overall performance of a student in all the terms up to date.

Retake 情況：Regulations Governing Taught Postgraduate 條文（同 undergraduate practice 一致）明訂 只有 final attempt grade 計入 GPA——你 retake 一科由 F 升到 B，只有 B 計；F 唔會拉低你 GPA。但 transcript 兩個 grade 都會顯示。Exempted courses 完全唔計 GPA。
實務 tip：你入學前 email Registry（[email protected]）拎自己 programme 具體 credit-weighted 例子——因為每個 major 嘅 core course credit 分佈唔一樣（BBA 有 3-credit 為主，Social Sciences 有 6-credit capstone），credit-weighted GPA 計法 collide 起上嚟差好遠。第二學期完 review 一次自己 transcript，即刻識分 term GPA 同 cumulative GPA 走勢，唔會 Year 3 至發現原來自己已經 Below 2.00 邊緣。
Honours 五級分類 — First 3.50 至 Pass 1.67
嶺大 Honours degree 分五級，每級對應一個 minimum Cumulative GPA threshold。BBA Student Handbook §23.2 全文：
There is a minimum Cumulative G.P.A. for each class below which a student will not be given the classification concerned, as follows:
(1) First Class Honours — 3.50 · (2) Upper Second Class Honours — 3.00 · (3) Lower Second Class Honours — 2.50 · (4) Third Class Honours — 2.00 · (5) Pass — 1.67.
The attainment of the minimum Cumulative G.P.A. does not mean automatic conversion to the corresponding class of honours.

「Not automatic conversion」句話最緊要留意——即係話你 CGPA 3.52 唔一定 First。Board of Examiners 有 discretion。決定 factor 通常包括：final year capstone / FYP 表現、有冇 F grade record、language requirement 完成情況、有冇 discipline record。呢啲 case-by-case 判斷冇公開 formula，你 Year 4 開學前應該同 Programme Director 面談確認自己 Honours prospect。如果需要 FYP 全程支援 或 Thesis 論文代寫——由 human writer 起草跟你 Faculty citation format——可以早半年開始 plan。
Dean’s List 同 President’s List — 兩張榮譽名單
嶺大有 兩張學術榮譽名單——比大部分香港大學（通常只有一張 Dean’s List）多一層。Dean’s List 中間段，President’s List 頂尖。BBA Student Handbook §21.1：
Dean’s List – A student who obtains 24 credits or more in an academic year (with 12 credits or more in any one term in the academic year), scores a Year G.P.A. of 3.30 – 3.69, and has no F (Failure), Fail, U (Unsatisfactory) or I (Incomplete) grades in any courses enrolled in for the academic year concerned will be placed on the Dean’s List.
BBA Student Handbook §21.1 — Dean’s List
President’s List – A student who obtains 24 credits or more in an academic year (with 12 credits or more in any one term in the academic year), scores a Year G.P.A. of 3.70 or above, and has no F (Failure), Fail, U (Unsatisfactory) or I (Incomplete) grades in any courses enrolled in for the academic year concerned will be placed on the President’s List.

Registry FAQ 補充：「The year G.P.A and academic honours of each academic year are processed after the Summer Term. Students whose transfer of credits from exchange programmes is still pending or who have pending grades will not be evaluated for academic honours until all their academic results in the academic year concerned are confirmed.」——即係暑期 term 之後至計 Year GPA；如果你 exchange 期 credit transfer 未 settle 或者有 pending grade，個學年 academic honours 會延後 evaluate。呢個對交換學生特別重要，因為 host university 出 grade 慢會拖到你錯過條件 sanity check。
Common misconception：Dean’s List 唔係「畢業時嘅 honours」，係 每個 academic year 獨立計——即係你 Year 2 可以喺 Dean’s List、Year 3 因為一科 F 掉出、Year 4 又返上 President’s List。呢個同 Honours degree classification（畢業時 based on Cumulative GPA）係兩件唔同嘅嘢。你 CV 可以寫「Dean’s List 2024-25」——年份要註明，因為淨係寫「Dean’s List」個 HR 唔知你嘅是邊年。
Honours 五級跨校對比：嶺大 vs 八大 threshold
將嶺大 Honours threshold 放入香港大學 landscape 睇，三個 pattern 特別重要。第一：First 3.50 threshold 略低於 HKU / EdUHK（3.60）——即係話同一個學生喺嶺大同喺 HKU、EdUHK 可能拉到唔同 Honours class。嶺大 3.50 同 HKU 3.60 對照，不代表相同難度。第二：2:i 同 2:ii 門檻同八大 mainstream 一致（即 3.00 同 2.50）——八大包括 Lingnan 一共九間中，2:i 3.00 同 2:ii 2.50 係 consensus 門檻，Lingnan align 喺 mainstream。第三：Pass class 1.67 門檻同 CUHK、HKUST 同 line——呢意味從嶺大拿 Pass degree 需要保持 C- 平均，唔係隨便就可以。Honours 五級係真正嘅 4-year study strategy 問題：你 Year 1 完嘅 Cumulative GPA 就 anchor 你後 3 年嘅 target class，因為進入後兩 year credit weight 逐年增加（senior year 6-credit capstone / FYP 對 Cumulative GPA impact 非常大）。你 Year 1 3.20 後續拉到 First（需要 3.50）係 possible 但 tight；你 Year 1 2.80 後續拉到 First 實際難度非常高。
Academic Probation — Cumulative GPA 1.67 底線
嶺大 academic probation trigger 係 Cumulative GPA 低於 1.67——即係 C- 平均以下。BBA Student Handbook §20.1.1：
A student will be put on academic probation in the following term(s) if his/her Cumulative G.P.A. is below 1.67.

A student on academic probation cannot take more than 12 credits of courses per term except otherwise approved.
BBA Student Handbook §20.1.2 — Study Load on Probation
Probation 一個 term 12 credits 限額——normally 你可以讀 15-18 credits——即係話 probation 下你會慢一個 term 完成 degree。呢個 penalty 唔係 punishment，係俾你空間 focus 拉高分。實務建議：一 probation 立即 book 同 academic adviser 面談（每個學生都有 assigned adviser），review 之前 fail 咁大原因（course selection 錯、workload 高、personal circumstances），tune 下 term 唔好又 fail。同時考慮 Proofreading & 修改 服務——如果你 assignment 內容有底但語言死喺 examiner 手上，proofreading 可以 salvage 一至兩級 grade。
Discontinuation 六個 grounds
嶺大 discontinuation 有六個獨立 ground——任何一個 trigger 都可以令你 studies terminate。BBA Student Handbook §20.2.1 全文：
The studies of a student will normally be discontinued if,
(a) his/her term grade point average is below 1.00 for any two terms; or
(b) he/she fails in more than half of the credits of all the courses he/she takes in a term for any two terms; or
(c) he/she fails to have his/her academic probation lifted at the end of the term when he/she has taken cumulatively 12 or more credits since he/she has been put on probation; regardless of any intervening leave of absence or suspension of studies; or
(d) he/she fails thrice a required course specified in his/her Major Programme (for a student who changes his/her study programme or Major programme, the failure under the original study programme or Major programme is also counted); or
(e) he/she fails to fulfil the requirement(s) for progression as stipulated in his/her Major Programme, if any; or
(f) he/she fails to fulfil all the requirements for graduation within the maximum period of study as stipulated in Regulation 13.2.

Ground (d) 三次不合格 required course係最要注意——「required course」定義包括 common core、language 課、Major 指定必修（Note 8）。如果你轉 major，前一 major 嘅 required course fail record 都會計埋——即係話 BBA 轉 Arts fail 兩次 marketing 唔係一筆勾銷，如果 Arts 都要果科同一科 fail 一次就 trigger discontinuation。實務上要早 semester 感覺 fail risk 就同 course teacher 講、search supplementary assessment（§7 有 provision）、必要時 drop course。
Period of Study — 14 terms 上限
BBA Student Handbook §13.2 明訂 maximum study period 一律以 term 計，唔係 year：
A student is required to fulfil all the requirements for graduation within the maximum study period, viz. fourteen terms (twelve terms for a student admitted to Year 2 and ten terms for a student admitted to Year 3) from his/her first registration, with the exception of the English language graduation requirement(s) (achieving a required score in IELTS for students admitted from 2017-18 except for those admitted to Year 3 in 2017-18, and taking the Password Test twice for students admitted from 2021-22) which should be fulfilled within ten terms (eight terms for a student admitted to Year 2 and six terms for a student admitted to Year 3). Summer terms are not included in the maximum period of study. Any periods of leave of absence, gap year, suspension of studies, and on approved exchange programmes are included in the maximum period of study.

兩個實務細節：Summer term 唔計——你 summer 讀 course 唔會 clock 你 14 term budget。第二，leave of absence、gap year、suspension of studies、exchange 都計入——即係話你 gap 一年去做 internship，個 year 仍然 count 落 maximum period。你 plan gap year 之前應該同 Registry 確認自己剩幾多 term budget。如果你 admitted to Year 1 而已經讀咗 12 term 都未畢業，冇乜 buffer 位——即係 exchange 期都要精打細算。
Discontinuation Appeal — 一星期期限
如果你被 recommend discontinue，Regulations Governing Undergraduate Examinations §9.1 有正式 appeal channel。§9.1.1：
A student whose studies are discontinued at the University due to unsatisfactory academic performance or progression may appeal in writing through the Registrar against the decision, enclosing all the necessary supporting documents. The Discontinuation Appeals Panel is empowered by the Senate to decide on the case, mainly on grounds of extenuating circumstances that affected the studies of the appellant and/or procedural problem(s) in the assessment process. The decision of the Panel will be final.
Regulations Governing Undergraduate Examinations §9.1.1
Appeals must be made within one week after the announcement of the resolution of Undergraduate Examinations Board (for undergraduate programmes)/Postgraduate Studies Committee (for taught postgraduate programmes).
Regulations Governing Undergraduate Examinations §9.1.3 — Deadline
三個要留意嘅重點：一星期期限——由 Undergraduate Examinations Board 公佈 resolution 起計。過期 lodged 冇機會。你收到 discontinuation notification 個日應該同一時間開始準備 appeal document。Appeal ground 有二——extenuating circumstances（例如家庭變故、健康問題、抑鬱、經濟困難）同 procedural problem（例如 examiner 冇 follow assessment criteria、marking 有明顯錯誤）。純粹「我覺得成績唔公平」冇 support 就唔會過關。Panel 決定 final——冇更高一層 escalation。§9.1.4 明訂 result 會喺 40 日內出。同 §9.1.2 講明 no fees。
Appeal document 建議包括：individual academic record（transcript）、supporting evidence（醫療證明、社工信、心理輔導記錄、家庭事故聲明）、personal statement 講清楚 timeline（乜嘢事件、幾時發生、點樣影響你 study）。如果你有 procedural argument，list 出具體 assessment 邊個環節有問題、有冇違反 assessment criteria、有冇違反 marking rubric。所有嘢要 written、documented、可以 verify。
Appeal 實操手續：一周內一定要做嘅四件事
接到 discontinuation notification 後一週嘅 window 內 appeal，實操層面你需要同一時間 sync 四件事。第一：即刻 download 你 official transcript 同 course result letter——這些都係 appeal package 根本位，唔能花兩三天 chase。第二：實際分析 downturn cause——係 medical（拿醫生證明 written by HK-registered doctor）、family emergency（帶 death certificate / hospital admission record）、財務困難交不到 tuition（帶 bank statement / financial hardship declaration），或係你自己都唔知 own reason——建議找 programme mentor / academic advisor 先對話回一次，因為你自己寫 cause 可能 係 procrastination + burnout，這個 Panel 唔接受；但 depression 或 anxiety disorder（diagnosed）都接受。第三：draft 你 written statement——不需要 emotional，需要 factual、chronological、evidence-tied。500-800 words 已經够，唔好寫到 3000 words 咁多 plead。第四：submit 同收 Registry acknowledgment——一定要有 written confirmation ／email trail （email screenshot / signed receipt）因為 40-day clock 從 Registry 收到 date 起數。
Credit Transfer — Grade C 最低要求
Registry 官方 credit transfer 規則講明 Grade C 係 minimum acceptable grade，Faculty 可以要更高。
A minimum grade C is required for credit transfer of courses taken in undergraduate or SD programmes. Individual faculties/departments have discretion to adopt a higher minimum grade where appropriate.
Applications from New Students upon Admission §2 — Credit Transfer Minimum Grade
The transfer of credits upon admission should be a one-off exercise. No subsequent transfer of credits will be approved during the course of the student’s study at Lingnan University except for newly gained qualifications after admission.
No grade will be given but all exempted or recognised courses and the number of credits transferred will be shown in the student’s transcript.
Applications from New Students §4-5
五個關鍵點：Grade C 最低——一 course grade C- 唔 qualify。Faculty discretion 可以要更高——BBA、Arts、Social Sciences 各自有唔同 minimum grade 政策，你入學前應該同 programme office 確認你希望 transfer 嘅 course 具體 grade 要求。One-off exercise——只可以喺入學時做一次；讀咗一個 term 之後至想加 transfer 冇機會（唯一 exception 係 newly gained qualifications after admission，例如你入學後考多個 professional certificate）。Exempt course 唔計 GPA——即係 transfer 嘅 credits 唔會拉高你 Cumulative GPA。Sub-degree articulation：Section 7 明訂 sub-degree graduates 拎 54+ credits 就 admitted as Year 3 senior year。
Max Period + LOA 嘅隱性影響
Max Period of Study 嘅 counting rule 也係很多學生 miss 嘅位——summer term 不計入（好處），但 LOA / gap year / exchange 全都計入（壞處）。實際意思係：你 Year 1 admission 後 take LOA 一個學年完之後回來讀，max period 直接推遠咗一年。你 exchange 一個學期回來，max period 都少咗一個 term。呢個係實際 window 問題，唔係 credit 問題：你 max period 已經 hit咗，就算你拿哂所有必修 credits，你呢個學位也 graduate 唔到。所以你 exchange 、LOA 確定後，一定要揾 Programme Office 重新 project 你嘅 graduation timeline，確定 max period 仍有充足 buffer 可以修滿所有必修 course 同 capstone 。呢個對 BBA 參加 overseas internship / summer school 學生影響特別大，因為你很可能唔夠 Y3-Y4 嘅 core Major course 探完就已經 hit max period boundary。Programme Office 接觸點：Registry [email protected] 係登記輸入問題。具體 Cumulative GPA 、Honours class 確認，直接同 Programme Office（BBA / SS / Arts / Sci 隨 major 不同）email，高於直接登記。建議你登記完每個 term 因為 course result 都係 formal Registry release 後一週內 email advisor confirm 已經 flow 到 official transcript，這樣就 close 到 loop。
GenAI 政策 — 全校 free ChatGPT + CCC8015 必修
嶺大係香港八大加嶺大之中 stance 最 open嘅一間——2023 年 7 月起全校 staff 同 student 可以 free 用 ChatGPT，之後 GPT-4.0、GPT-4.0 Turbo 陸續開放。嶺大官方 press release 講：
Since July 2023, all staff and students at Lingnan University have been given free access to ChatGPT, followed by GPT 4.0 and GPT 4.0 Turbo. The objective is for students to have a competitive advantage in five to ten years.
Lingnan University has introduced several AI-related disciplines, as well as mandatory generative AI courses for all freshmen.

「mandatory generative AI courses for all freshmen」——即係 CCC8015 Generative Artificial Intelligence——係全校所有 freshmen 必修。呢個 course 喺 BBA Student Handbook Study Plan Checklist（2024 Intake, p.8）同 Year One Study Plan（p.9）明訂 `CCC8015 Generative Artificial Intelligence (R)` — (R) = Required。呢個安排強於教大、浸大——嶺大係香港唯一將 GenAI 列做 Year 1 mandatory 嘅大學。

Lingnan University Syllabus Tool — Standard GenAI Clause
Students shall be aware of the University regulations about dishonest practice in course work, tests and examinations, and the possible consequences as stipulated in the Regulations Governing University Examinations and Coursework. In particular, plagiarism, being a kind of dishonest practice, is “the presentation of another person’s work without proper acknowledgement of the source, including exact phrases, or summarised ideas, or even footnotes/citations, whether protected by copyright or not, as the student’s own work”. Students are required to strictly follow university regulations governing academic integrity and honesty.
Students are required to submit writing assignment(s) using Turnitin.

Declaration template——嶺大冇 published university-wide template（同 HKU Arts 6 項嘅明訂唔同）。實務建議：如果 course syllabus 冇明講 declaration format，用 EdUHK 4 元素 template（tool name / prompts / how used / integration into assignment）做 baseline 一定安全。詳細跨校對照可以睇香港八大 AI 政策 declaration 對照 hub。
嶺大 AI 政策 vs 八大：3 項明顯實行層面差異
嶺大 GenAI 政策放入八大跨校對照，有三項 stance 係實行層面非常特別。第一項：Access policy 最 open——八大中雖然有 CityU、HKUST 提供部分官方 GenAI tool，但 Lingnan 係唯一明文 press release 公佈 free ChatGPT + GPT-4 + GPT-4 Turbo 全校可用。如果你係 EdUHK、HKMU 學生，呢筆 access 費你每次用 AI 都要自己 pay。第二項：Curriculum-level integration 最強——八大中 Common Core 中探討 AI 嘅 course 都係 elective，Lingnan CCC8015 Generative Artificial Intelligence 係 全校 Year 1 mandatory。呢筆才係 real integration，唔係 pilot 一兩個 faculty 就算。第三項：Declaration 自主性最大——呢個係雙刃劍。嶺大冇公開 university-wide declaration template（同 HKU Arts 6 項、EdUHK 4 元素、HKBU 兩選一唔一樣），default 係由 course teacher 喺 syllabus 將具體 rule 寫明。好處係 flexibility；壞處係學生唔知 fallback template 用咗。實務 tips：如果 course syllabus 冇明講 declaration format，直接跟 EdUHK 4 元素 template（tool name / prompts / how used / integration）做 baseline 一定安全。

- GenAI declaration 統一 template——**搵唔到官方文件**。嶺大官方冇 published mandatory declaration format；由 course teacher 決定
- Retake 次數上限——Regulations Governing Undergraduate Examinations 明訂「no retake policy stated」——即係話 undergraduate level 冇官方 course retake 條文（同 Postgraduate 條文明訂 twice 限額唔一樣）。實務上你要查你 Major-specific handbook 有冇 additional constraint
- 0.1 GPA discretion 機制——**搵唔到官方文件**。BBA §23.2 只講 “not automatic conversion”，但冇具體 discretion range（HKU UG 8(g) 有明訂 0.1 GP discretion，嶺大冇同 provision）
- Cross-programme major transfer 期限——**搵唔到官方文件**。冇 university-wide 「Year N 前可以轉 major」政策；由 Faculty 個別決定
- Language requirement retake fee——**搵唔到官方文件**。IELTS retake 冇 limit 官方講明，但每次考試 self-fund，具體 cost 唔係 university 負責
共通點：各 course teacher、Programme Office、Faculty 有 significant discretion，冇 University-wide 統一 threshold。想追根究底就查你自己 Course Outline / Major Handbook / Programme-specific regulations 對應章節，或者直接 email Registry / Programme Office 拎書面確認。呢啲 written email confirmation 你應該保留最少畢業後 3 年，因為某啲 employer background check、專業牌照 registration 都可能追溯 verify 你 academic record。
4-year study strategy — 嶺大 GPA 規劃
以上都係規則層面。實操層面，你從 Year 1 到 Year 4 嘅 GPA 規劃應該如何 plan？以四個階段作 milestone。Year 1 Term 1（建立 baseline）：focus 你 CCC8015 GenAI 同 Common Core language 課 grade——呢兩項都係 3 credits 但 baseline anchor 你後 3 年嘅 GPA 發展難度。target：B+ 及以上（GPA 3.33+）。Year 1 Term 2 – Year 2 Term 2（穩定 base）：把 Cumulative GPA 拉到你 target Honours class 門檻上一層——target First 係 3.60+，target 2:i 係 3.10+。呢個階段 credit 尺度較小、學業 workload 可控，你可以集中衝 Dean’s List / President’s List。Year 3 Term 1-2（重點衝刺）：進入 Major core course，credit 尺度也強（可能有好幾科 6-credit course）——呢個階段 GPA 一定係直接影響你最終 Honours class。Year 4（總結鞏固）：capstone / FYP 可能兩三科 6-credit course 係一大重點——呢個階段係你最後一次 leverage，拿 A- 以上可以 push 0.15-0.25 GPA point。實驗 pattern：嶺大學生實際拿 First 嘅，九成以上都係因為 Year 3-4 將 Cumulative GPA 拉到 3.50+ line 上，唔係 Year 1 一開始就自然沖到。

Q2. 嶺大 First Class Honours 分數線係幾多？
Cumulative GPA 3.50——BBA Student Handbook §23.2 明訂。但要記住條文有一句「attainment of the minimum Cumulative G.P.A. does not mean automatic conversion」——即係話 3.50 唔一定 First，Board of Examiners 有 discretion。你可以睇Honours 五級分類 section 詳細對比八大 threshold。
Q3. Dean’s List 同 President’s List 有咩分別？
兩張都係每個 academic year 嘅榮譽名單，同 Honours degree（畢業時 based on Cumulative GPA）係兩件唔同嘅嘢。Dean’s List：Year GPA 3.30-3.69；President’s List：Year GPA 3.70 或以上。兩張都要 24 credits 或以上、任何 term 12+ credits、冇 F/Fail/U/I。詳細見Dean’s / President’s List。
Q4. Cumulative GPA 跌到 1.5，會即刻 discontinue 嗎？
唔會即刻——但會 academic probation（§20.1.1：Cumulative GPA < 1.67 就上 probation）。Probation 下一 term 你只可以讀 12 credits max。如果 probation 期累積 12+ credits 都拉唔返 1.67 以上，就 trigger §20.2.1(c) discontinuation。所以 probation 唔係 punishment，係俾你機會 recover。實務建議：立即同 academic adviser 面談，review 課程選擇同 study strategy。
Q5. Term GPA 連續兩學期 0.9，會 discontinue 嗎？
會 trigger §20.2.1(a)：「Term GPA below 1.00 for any two terms」。呢個係 discontinuation ground——normally 會被 recommend discontinue。但 §9.1.1 俾你 appeal channel——一星期內經 Registrar written appeal 去 Discontinuation Appeals Panel，附上 extenuating circumstances（醫療、家庭、心理輔導記錄）或 procedural argument。詳細見Discontinuation 同 Appeal。
Q6. 同一 required course fail 兩次，第三次一定要通過？
係——§20.2.1(d)：「fails thrice a required course specified in his/her Major Programme」係 discontinuation ground。而且 §20.2.1(d) 註明「for a student who changes his/her study programme or Major programme, the failure under the original study programme or Major programme is also counted」——即係轉 major fail record 唔係一筆勾銷。如果同一科（例如某 core language、Common Core、Major 必修）你之前已經 fail 兩次，第三次 attempt 之前應該同 course teacher / Programme Director 面談拎 strategy。
Q7. Maximum period 14 terms，暑假讀計唔計？
Summer term 唔計——§13.2 明訂「Summer terms are not included in the maximum period of study」。但 leave of absence、gap year、suspension、exchange 都計入 maximum period。所以你 4-year programme 14 terms budget 平均一年 3.5 terms（including 一個 summer 唔計）——即係話你可以「1-year gap year + 4 years study」但 gap year 個 4 terms 會計入 14 terms 個 count 度。詳細見Period of Study。
Q8. Discontinuation appeal 一星期真係咁短？
係——§9.1.3 明訂「within one week after the announcement of the resolution of Undergraduate Examinations Board」。過期 lodged 嘅 appeal 唔會受理。收到 discontinuation notification 個日開始你就要準備 documentation。§9.1.2 明訂 no fees。§9.1.4 明訂 result 會 40 日內出。Panel decision 係 final，冇再上一層 escalation。詳細見Discontinuation Appeal。
Q9. 嶺大真係 free 俾我用 ChatGPT？我 assignment 可以直接 copy paste？
Free access 係真——2023 年 7 月起全校 staff student 都可以用（現時 GPT-4.0、GPT-4.0 Turbo）。但免費用 ≠ assignment 可以任意 copy paste——每 course syllabus 都要求「adhere to University’s guidelines when using Generative AI tools」同「submit using Turnitin」。即係你 draft 用咗 AI 但冇 declare 又冇跟 course rule，Turnitin AI Score 可以 flag，一 investigate 就 collapse。細節見GenAI 政策。
Q10. CCC8015 一定要 Year 1 讀嗎？可以推遲嗎？
CCC8015 Generative Artificial Intelligence 標記為 (R)（Required）喺 Study Plan Checklist 同 Year One Study Plan——即係Year 1 mandatory。實務上你 Year 1 core registration 期會直接 pre-registered 呢科。如果有 exceptional circumstances 想推遲，同 Programme Office 提前傾——但 default 係 Year 1。
Q11. Credit transfer 我 Grade C- 得唔得？
唔得——Registry 明訂 minimum grade C for credit transfer。C- 唔 qualify。而且 individual Faculty 可以要更高 minimum grade（例如某啲 core course 要 B）。你入學前應該同 programme office 確認每一科具體 minimum grade。詳細見Credit Transfer。
Q12. 我 exchange 攞高分，會拉高 Cumulative GPA 嗎？
唔會。Credit transfer 出嚟嘅 credits 顯示喺 transcript 但唔計 GPA——BBA §14.4「Courses which are exempted are not included in the calculation of Term or Cumulative G.P.A.」（相關條文）。即係你 exchange 攞 A 唔會拉高 GPA、fail 亦唔會拉低。但個學年 Dean’s List / President’s List evaluation 會等 pending grade / transfer settle 之後至 process（Registry FAQ）。
嶺大 senior year 分五級 Honours 邊條線最緊要——係 3.50、3.00、2.50 三條
嶺大用 Cumulative GPA 分 First / 2:i / 2:ii / Third / Pass 五級——三條臨界線（3.50、3.00、2.50）每一條差 0.01 都可能被 downgrade。你 Year 3、Year 4 每一科 3-credit core、6-credit capstone、FYP／dissertation 直接決定你落邊一級。而 §23.2 條文明講「attainment of minimum Cumulative G.P.A. does not mean automatic conversion」——即係話 3.52 都可能俾 Board of Examiners 判 2:i 唔係 First。
